Case where you need not use Keio ID as your login account to publicly available Google Services

Operating procedure

Below, it is necessary to perform two procedures: “Obtain a Gmail account and separate Keio ID from the publicly available Google login account.” and “Method of responding to trouble when setting Keio ID as “spare email address” (or “Other email address”)” for the Google Account”.

“Procedure 1” Obtain a Gmail account and separate Keio ID from the publicly available Google login account.

  1. Click the "Start" button on the bottom left.

  2. Click "[2] Select the separate address you will use for your personal account."
Select "Use Gmail and the new gmail.com address for one account" in "Type of Account Used", and click the "Continue" button.

  3. "Name" (please enter your own name.)
"Desired Gmail address" (you cannot specify the existing address. Please enter a newly desired account name as a replacement for Keio ID.)
Please enter your "current email address" (an email address different from the Gmail address now registered, to be used for notifications when you have forgotten your password for example)
and then click the "Send" button.

  4. Select either method displayed on the screen and enter the required information, then click the "Next" button.

  5. After entering the conformation code, click the "Next" button.
(Here, enter the confirmation code that was sent to the cell phone email address, to show the sequence when performing the procedure.)

  6. Confirm that the screen after Gmail login is displayed.
Confirm that the settings or data of Calendar etc. are passed on.
It may take about 10 minutes for this setting to be reflected.
Please continue by performing the following "Procedure 2".

"Procedure 2" Method of responding to trouble when setting Keio ID as “spare email address” (or “Other email address”)” for the Google Account.

  1. Click "Icon" → "Account" on the top right of the screen.

  2. Confirm that the Keio ID is set in "Spare email address".
If it is set, click the "Edit" button and perform the procedure beginning in 3.
If it is not set, this completes the work. (It is not necessary to perform subsequent procedure.)

  3. Then click the "Edit" button.

  4. Click "×".

  5. After a delete line is placed on Keio ID, click the "Save" button.

  6. If the message, "account information is updated and saved." is displayed, the operation is completed.
(The Keio ID may remain displayed as shown in the image, but you can confirm that "Spare email address" is no longer displayed by repeating operation "1".)

It may take about 10 minutes to link account information inside Google services.

If the trouble continues after completing the operation, let a little more time pass, then try to send email to the Group or try to see the calendar.
Ask the owner of the Group to confirm whether or not Keio ID is displayed in its original email address format (for example, keio-taro@a2.keio.jp) on the said group management screen.

If there are any unclear points, such as a different screen being displayed as you perform the above operations, we are sorry to trouble you, but please contact the keio.jp help desk (help@keio.jp).
