Using Windows Live Mail 2012

Introduction

Step 1: Check the ID and password you need to set up the email software.

Check your Keio Apps ID

  1. Log into keio.jp.
  2. When you have logged in, your ID name with "@keio.jp" will be displayed above Application and Information.
    This ID is your Keio Apps ID. Note down this ID somewhere. You will need it later in this process.
  3. You can check this by launching the new system (Gmail) as well.
    From "Application," click the New Keio Mail menu.
    The ID name with "@keio.jp" displayed at the top right of the launched screen will be your Keio Apps ID.
    Note down this ID somewhere.

Check your password

  1. Click "Change passwords" from the top right menu.
  2. Click "Email software/Smartphone apps".
  3. Selecting "Display Email software/Smartphone app passwords" will display a password.
    This password is your password for the email software.Note down this password somewhere. You will need it later in this process.

Step 2: Check the receiving protocol for Windows Live Mail 2012

  1. Launch Windows Live Mail 2012.
  2. Click "Account""Properties".
  3. When the Properties screen appears, click the "Server" tab.
    Check the protocol displayed in "Type of receiving email server".

Step 3: Set up using the Windows Live Mail 2012 email software

Set up using the email software.

  1. When the protocol in Step 2 was "IMAP Mail Server"
    - Move to "Setting Examples for Windows Live Mail 2012 IMAP4".
  2. When the protocol in Step 2 was "POP Mail Server"
    - Move to "Setting Examples for Windows Live Mail 2012 POP3".
