7. Email Automatic Sorting setting migration method

Email Automatic Sorting setting procedure

Please perform procedure 1 and procedure 2 below.

  1. Procedure 1: Confirming contents of setting under current system (DEEPMail)
  2. Procedure 2: Setting under new system (Gmail)

Migrating “Automatic Sorting settings” of the current system (DEEPMail).

With Automatic Sorting setting under the current system (DEEPMail), it was possible to set condition settings in detail.
With the new system (Gmail), it is possible to sort email using the filter settings.
* Refer to Using filters: Gmail Help for filter settings.

* It is impossible to export the automatic sorting settings under the current system (DEEPMail). Please perform the migration procedure yourself, while confirming the contents of setting under the current system (DEEPMail). And even if settings migrate, existing email cannot be sorted.

The current system (DEEPMail) used “Folder” to sort email, but with the new system (Gmail), a “Label” is used. Please look here for “Label”.

Confirming contents of setting under current system (DEEPMail)

  1. Go to top page of current system (DEEPMail) and click “Option” on the top menu.


  2. After the option menu is displayed, click “Automatic Sorting setting”.


  3. Please confirm the settings on this screen.


* Case where “X-Spam-Status” or “X-Spam-MARK” is set in “Conditions”.

  • This setting cannot migrate to the new system (Gmail).
  • It is considered to be a setting mainly for SPAM sorting, but in this case, migration is not particularly necessary. (In the new system (Gmail), email suspected of being SPAM is automatically classified as “SPAM” and removed from the “Inbox”).

Setting under the new system (Gmail)

  1. Click on “Settings” from the gear mark on the upper right of new system (Gmail) screen, then click on “Filter” (tab).


  2. Click on “Prepare new filter”.


  3. Set the contents of item 3 that confirms the contents of setting under the current system (DEEPMail), then click on “Prepare filter under this search condition.”

    * Refer to Searching with Gmail for details on the search conditions

  4. Check “Attach a Label”, select the Label you wish to classify, then click on “Prepare filter”.
    If there is no Label you wish to classify, please refer to here to prepare a Label.


  5. After the following is displayed, preparation of the Filter is completed.


    * Preferential procedure of Automatic Sorting:

    • With Gmail, if multiple filters are set, they are preferentially applied from the top.
    • If “Editing” > “Renew filter” is done with a Gmail filter, the filter moves to the bottommost position.
