5. Email Forwarding setting method

Email Forwarding setting procedure

Please perform procedure 1 and procedure 2 below.

  1. Procedure 1: confirming contents of setting under current system (DEEPMail)
  2. Procedure 2: please perform one of the following

First

Migrating contents of “Mail Forwarding” of the current system (DEEPMail).

Confirming contents of setting under current system (DEEPMail)

※It is impossible to set usability and period setting.
※With the new system, it is impossible to forward all email so none remains. (Even if “erase email” is set under forwarding setting, it is only migrated to Trash. Email that was placed in Trash is erased after 30 days.)

  1. Go to top page of current system (DEEPMail) and click “option” on the top menu.


  2. After the option menu is displayed, click “Forwarding Email”.


  3. Please confirm the setting contents on this screen.


Setting under the new system (Gmail) - forwarding all email -

  1. Click “Setting” from the menu on the top right of the new system (Gmail) screen, then click on “Forwarding Email and POP/IMAP” (tab).


  2. Click “add forwarding destination address”.


  3. Enter forwarding destination email address, and click “Next”.


  4. Forwarding destination confirmation message is displayed. If there are no problems, click “Continue”.


  5. Confirmation code is transmitted in order to confirm permission to the forwarding address.
    Click “OK” to return to original screen.


  6. Open email transmitted on the forwarding destination address side and confirm the “Confirmation Code”.


  7. Enter the Confirmation Code and click “Confirm”.


  8. Confirm that the set address is in the display of the “forward received email to xxxxxxxx” that is forwarded. And confirm that “Invalidate Forwarding” is entered in the check.
    To forward to the set email address using a filter, advance to “Setting under new system (Gmail) - specifying conditions and forwarding-” without change.
    To forward all email without using a filter, advance to the next item.


  9. Check “forward received email to xxxxxxxx” and click “leave Keio Gijuku mail’s email in the inbox” and select the forwarded email operation.

    Leaving email in the inbox
    Received (forwarded) email remains in the “Inbox” as it is.
    Classifying email as “Read”
    Received (forwarded) email remains in the “Inbox” as read email.
    Archiving email.
    Received (forwarded) email migrates to “All email” from the beginning without remaining in the “Inbox”.
    Removing email
    Received (forwarded) email migrates to “Trash” from the beginning without remaining in the “Inbox”.

    If forwarding can be set, click the button “Keep Changes” that is at the bottom of the screen.


  10. Change to inbox screen and display “Settings Kept.”

  11. Finally, disable the forwarding settings of mail in the current system.

    *If you do not perform this procedure, e-mail may arrive in two copies to the forwarding address.

    In accordance with items 1, 2 of Procedure 1: confirming contents of setting under current system (DEEPMail), and access the configuration screen of forwarding mail of the current system, and then click the "on" in the following screen.



  12. Once changed to "OFF" will disable email forwarding setting of the current system.

Setting under new system (Gmail) - specifying conditions and forwarding -

* Only persons who want to forward by specifying conditions such as the main text, email size limits etc. are requested to do this.

  1. If the forwarding address is not registered, perform steps 1 to 8 in “Setting under new system (Gmail) - forwarding all email - “ Even when forwarding individually, it is necessary to register the Email Forwarding address.

  2. Click “Settings” from the menu on the upper right of the new system (Gmail) screen then click “Filter” (tab).


  3. Click on “Prepare new filter”.


  4. Enter the search condition and click on “Prepare filter based on this search condition”.
    Please set contents same as the setting of the current system (DEEPMail).


  5. Enter Check to “Forward to next address”, and click “Prepare filter”.


  6. After it is displayed as follows by the Filter (tab), preparation of the Filter is completed.


  7. Finally, set the forwarding in the current system to OFF.

    * If this procedure is not done, you will end up with two identical emails in your forwarding location.

    Follow items 1 and 2 to check the settings in the current system (DEEPMail) to access the settings screen for forwarded emails in the current system and click "on" in the screen below.



  8. If it shows "OFF" as below, the forwarding settings in the current system are not active.
