Introduction

  • Those who read and write emails in a web browser
Use the "Procedure to reflect the sorting, read and unread statuses of email to the new system (example for those who read and write emails in a web browser)" below as reference for reflecting.

  • Those who read and write emails in email software
Use the email software to reflect email sorting, read and unread statuses.
Before setting this step, carry out "3. Method of setting email software."

If you do not need to reflect read and unread statuses or email sorting, move to "1-3. Migrate emails that could not be automatically migrated".

Procedure to reflect the sorting, read and unread statuses of email to the new system (example for those who read and write emails in a web browser)

  1. Procedure: Method for selecting read and unread
Reflect the read or unread statuses of emails.
  2. Procedure: Method to sort emails
    Sort emails.
Email sorting uses Folders in the current system (DEEPMail) but Labels in the new system.Refer here for information on Labels.
  3. Procedure: Methods to sort or set emails as read using filters
Select all the emails which match the conditions in bulk and reflect whether they are read or not read, and sort them out.

If you do not need to reflect read/unread status or sort emails, or have completed the previous step, move to "1-3. Migrating emails which could not be automatically migrated".

Procedure: Method for setting as read or unread

1. Log into keio.jp

2. Select "New Keio mail" from the Application menu.

3. Select the emails you wish to set.
With the [Select▼] button you can choose "All," "Cancel selection," "Read," "Unread," etc.

[Reference]
When "All" is selected for multiple pages of emails, "All 50 (for example) threads in this page have been selected. Select all 200
(for example) threads in the Inbox" will be displayed between the menu and the emails.
Clicking "Select all 200 (for example) threads in the Inbox" will also select emails on other pages.
Reference URL: Google Help: Check about threads.

(Example) Selecting "Unread" will select unread emails.

4. After selecting the emails, clicking "Other" in the upper menu will display the "Set as read" and "Set as unread" items.
(Example) When the selected email is "Unread," it will display as "Set as read," so clicking this will set it to "Read."

Procedure: Method to sort emails

1. In the new system (Gmail), after selecting the email, click the "Save" button and select the label to sort it under.
*The emails in the Inbox are left untouched using this procedure, so if you do not want them displayed, click "Archive" after selecting them.

Procedure: Methods to sort or reflect emails as read using filters

  1. Click the gearwheel menu at the top right of the new system (Gmail), then click "Settings."
  2. Click "Filters," then click "Create a new Filter."
  3. After entering the conditions for selecting emails in the search criteria, click "Create a Filter with these search criteria."
The search options will be displayed, so specify the criteria, such as "Set as Read" or "Apply the label" to create the filter.
If you do not want the sorted emails to appear in your Inbox, insert a check in "Skip Inbox (Archive)".
Refer to Google Help: Organizing with Labels and Filters for more on setting Filters.

This completes the migration procedure in "1-2. Reflect the sorting, read, and unread statuses of emails to the new system."

Move on to "1-3. Migrate emails that could not be automatically migrated".
