Changing printer name on Windows

You cannot set the printer name when you set up a printer on Windows.

We cannot support troubles concerning changing registry. We do not have any responsibility for those trouble which is due to the changing registry.
Please do not change the printer name is Windows8 system .

  1. Start registry editor.
    • Start [regedit] from [Run..].
  2. Edit the printer name.
    ※The following two printer will be registered if you installed both color printer and monochrome printer.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\,,https://cnsipp.sfc.keio.ac.jp,RGate IPP Printer
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\,,https://cnsipp.sfc.keio.ac.jp,RGate IPP Printer(copy 1)
    Edit the value of Name written above.
    • If the value of port is https://cnsipp.sfc.keio.ac.jp/monoprn, it is monochrome printer.
    • If the value of port is https://cnsipp.sfc.keio.ac.jp/colorprn, it is color printer.

About authentication failed.

If you pasted the IPP password, there is a possibility the password includes some extra characters like a space.

  • If you pasted the password, make sure it does not include a space.
  • Example:
     ^^^      ^^

Open an app from an unidentified developer

  • When clicked a pkg file, a message as "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." is indicated.
  • It's right-clicked and Open is chosen from the menu.
  • from an unidentified developer. Are you sure you want to open it? The message to say so is indicated, so Open is clicked.
